Phones are one of the biggest distractions in class. Due to having easy access to your phone whenever you want, students tend to not pay attention in class.
Should phones be allowed in class?
Recent studies provide evidence that allowing phones in the classroom negatively impacts test scores and long-term learning. There are some studies that suggest negative relationships between off-task device use and student achievement. A student that doesn’t use their phone during class will usually be more successful in class.
Why is it good to have your phone in class?
A proven fact is that cell phones in school can help accelerate a student’s learning. Students involved in social outlets like sports or clubs are able to excel in the classroom. Using virtual social tools can have that same effect and help students stay engaged in a classroom environment. Everyone has a different way to help them learn.
