Haunted houses are very popular during October, scaring people the closer Halloween gets. Most haunted houses operate for a month or two out of the year. These haunted events attract over 40,000 to 60,000 guests. Halloween is the second largest holiday in the United States. Visitors can experience scary music, loud screaming, fake blood, etc. The loud noises, flashing lights and optical illusions can disrupt your predictive processing which helps us navigate the world. They exist to scare people. Haunted houses are inseparable from the holiday vaulting it to the culture.
