The social media app, TikTok, is most known for starting off most current celebrities like Charlie Damelio, a small town girl who grew famous overnight for making dancing videos in her basement. However, the app is also known for exposing some of the more controversial happenings as well. Listed below are the currently canceled TikTokers and why they are under heat.

Mikayla Nogueira, a TikToker known for her makeup and beauty routines, is currently canceled for an audio snippet going viral of her saying “Try being an influencer…I literally just finished work and its 5:19..” Mikayla received a lot of backlash for this post because people took it as her being ungrateful for her privilege of being an influencer and made the situation an example of how easy it is for people to forget where they came from. She responded to the hate with an apology video and announced those weren’t her intentions on 9/30, which is currently her last post.

Charli D’amelio, known for her dancing videos, is currently being questioned if she is trying to “outshine” her sister. To many, Charli has always been the more successful one. Her sister, Dixie, joined social media following her sisters rise to fame and eventually began a music career. She was made fun of for her dark, deep meaning songs and was told by everyone on the internet that she just wanted to find a purpose. After years of trying to get her music heard and build the confidence to release an album, her sister, Charli, announced to her that she would be releasing a single. After releasing the song, Charli didn’t receive the love she thought she would’ve. She was compared to a Walmart version of Olivia Rodrigo and was told “stick to dancing”. As of now the internet doesn’t know if there will be a future in music for Charli, but we may find out on the next season of “The D’amelio Show”.
