My favorite animal is an elephant because my mother always liked elephants so I like them too. They’re also my favorite because elephants are always featured in the movies. Elephants can live up to 60 to 70 years and their scientific name is Loxodonta Africana. They grow up to be about 10 feet tall and there is only a population of 415,000 of them left because they’re going extinct. They are one of the two living African elephant species. They also communicate through vibrations.
Females give birth to a single calf after a 22-month gestation. They prefer to sleep standing up, however sometimes they choose to lie down to sleep.
Elephants are awesome because they share the same set of visual pigments as blind humans. They can also be known to be aggressive and dangerous. During an attack, an elephant is quite capable of killing another elephant.
